abhie
Thanks for your help in advance. I have this recurring problem that just doesn't go away. If there is a model I want to use as a VRay proxy, I attach all the parts, (along with preserve material ids ) then I right click , then export it as a Vray mesh file for Vray proxy. When I then import the vray mesh , I drag and drop the original muti sub-object material onto the proxy object. No problems so far. But when i hit 'render', Vray can't seem to get the mapping bit ? I get this box: "The following objects require map cooridinates and may not render correctly: (UVW 1): VRAYProxy001" What I get is a plain color, no textures, or mixed up textures. I even tried applying different material id numbers to each of the elements before attaching them into a single mesh. No luck. Any help appreciated. aristocratic3d
This seems to be a UV mapping issue. this is no matter what material ID you save if you do not apply UV texture coordinator before you export it to vray proxy. So double check if you did UV before exporting to vray mesh. Hope it helps.

Crazy Homeless Guy
Can you add a UVW modifier to a proxy? ....then set it to real world and see if that looks fine.
