Hi Nic - would you care to elaborate on your comment?

What do you think caused this?

Is there some way to get it back on track?

Is this just a natural cycle of forums? - birth, maturity, degeneration, demise?

I know that the original Lightscape forum (pre-Autodesk) went through a similar

transformation.

sorry i was just being facetious - i would like to ban myself from here, but every-time i put a render on i tend to have a browse...

yes i think this forum is basically dead, compared to what it was a couple of years ago.

it is now generally full of spam, rubbish work, bizzare questions and 'one off' users looking to peddle their evermotion renders. i feel loads of people look at this site but no one says anything except 'LOL COOL 11'

that said i don't get much of chance to post work anymore as i don't feel its worth it to show work to a community of spambots! plus alot of stuff is under NDA and gets put on our website when / if released released.

in truth though its probably my personal dissapointment with what 'arch-vis' is these days (teh new drafting - all about 'lineweights' and 'cool blocks': i have mentioned it before but there is little room for movement away from accepted standards - alot of this is driven commercially of course but i rarely see deviation (im guilty of it in my own work as well) from vray/stockmodels/sunsky/standard trend driven postwork

was looking at these images this morning and thinking how much id like to do an commercial animation / still in this style, nothing ground breaking but looks fresh to my tired vray eyes!

Nic, you should post some of your work so I can give you valuable crits like, Amazing!, I didn't think you where alowed to post photographs, can u share your settings pleaze, or pleze give us that texture. Or something simillair in that circle jerk, can I steal your work sort of vein. I understand we all have to make a living, peddle books etc., but it would be nice if there was a real crit area, like cgtalks hardcore crit tab, were people aren't looking for a pat on the back and a preset.
