Devin Johnston
I keep having this problem, older models that hang onto plugins that I no longer use and every time I import them max asks where the .dlr is. There's got to be a way to remove them from the model, I've already replaced the materials.
bev.lynn
Hi Devin, This worked for me when I had missing dll problem: 1. First switch to mental ray or preferred renderer 2. Open the material editor and pick a sample slot 3. Click the get material button or hit "G". The material map browser should now be open 4. Under the "Browse From" menu on the left make sure only the "Scene" radio button is selected 5. Select the materials and incompatible options under the "Show" options 6. Also make sure "Root Only" and "By Object" are NOT selected 7. The offending materials should now rear their ugly heads 8. Double click on them and change them to a mental ray material or whatever I hope this helps!
