Crazy Homeless Guy
Interesting site to test password security.... http://howsecureismypassword.net/
-MerlyN-
Funny, but not accurate IMO. The script only checks the number of different characters and the length of the password and assumes a standard desktop pc can do 10.000.000 calculations per second and divides the permutations of the entered password's charactersets by those assumed 10 milion calculations. In addition it has some arrays with very typical unsecure passwords. I'd guess, that it takes a bit more to average the time and process needed to crack any password and that its standard for anyone decent to use all four types of characters in his or her password. Crazy Homeless Guy
IN general I think we are giving to much credit to the average user. There are still a lot of passwords that are password. In general though, how many calculations per second does a moderate to high end home computer do these days?
