aristocratic3d
Hi, I built a model of bicycle. I need it within 10000 polygon. I made that. But when I export it to 3ds or obj it goes up to 18000 polygon. Why is this happening? please see attached image. Any help are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Edited September 12, 2010 by aristocratic3d attachment managed
JonRashid
Because when you import in it treats every face as a polygon. Try quadrify or one of the other methods that return your mesh to quads
-MerlyN-
either that, or you have some splines turned renderable, that are converted to meshes.
nelpiper
The quadrify modifier is not recommended from autodesk itself. Go here and download a very cool script that will remove the extra faces from your polygon. Hope it helps. Good luck.
