tecton3d
I am spec'ing a laptop for my daily use of mostly Autocad linework with possible modeling and maybe even some rendering. As of now, I have picked the Dell M4500 (or lenovo W510) due to the fact that it has decent specs and isn't the size of a house but I'm concerned the Quadro FX 1800M won't adequately power the Dell Ultrasharp 24" (1920x1200) monitor that I will be purchasing alongside the laptop. I don't like the idea of working on a laptop screen all day so if the FX 1800 can't juice the external monitor, I might have to man-up to the M6500 (or Lenovo W710) and get used to the back pain caused by lugging a high-end laptop... Does anyone have experience with the FX 1800m and external monitor and/or the current Lenovo Thinkpads or Dell Precision laptops?
