jonreed
Does anyone know any tricks on how to reduce the amount of faceting when you import a model from Cad into 3ds Max? Any tips would help. Thanks
Thablanch
When you are in the Improt Dialog Box, there is something, near the bottom of the dialog box, called: Maximum surface deviation for 3d solids. Change the default by a smaller value. The default is 1 I think, change that number to 0.005 or 0.01, something small. Smaller the value, smoother the import, and of course, way more polygons. Hope it helps
dande
Sometimes if you model is far away from the origin this can cause faceting problems. try moving your model down to 0,0 in CAD and then import using the setting outlined by Thablanch
