Jeff Mottle
About a year ago I was invited to speak at Montana State University's DCA conference, which I attended last week. It was a huge honor for me to be invited to speak amoung some of the top educators in the US and around the world. It was made all that much more special by the fact I had originally planned to go to MSU Architecture school when I graduated High School. But that did not end up happening. To then be asked some 17 years later was a very surreal experience, made all that more surreal by meeting Frank Ching, the author of "Building Construction Illustrated". Of all the books I kept, his was one of them. I can't help but think this is some strange twist of fate confirming this was the direction I was meant to go. Anyway, Lon Grohs (Neoscape) was able to snap a photo with a new group of friends and Frank Ching. I think he was a bit taken aback that a group of us wanted to have their picture taken with him, but I guess every industry has their rockstars. Jeff Mottle (CGarchitect), Frank Ching, Tom McPeek (University of Central Florida), Paul Laseau (Another well known architectural book Author), Eric Inglert (University of Cincinnati)

Frosty
Awesome! One of my former profs, Carl Nelson, was a classmate of Ching's. He told me stories of how they used to have competitions drawing straight, parallel lines - freehand. The objective was to drawing as close together without touching. A lot like my neck of the woods, but they are right in the middle of the mountain valley which would be a pretty nice place to live.

No as we were only in Bozeman for a few hours. The event itself took place out at the Chico Hot Springs.
