hieu
I've got a question about ADT export to Max functions? When I create a simple wall in ADT3(using standard wall style), exported it to 3ds and then import it into 3dsmax6. I found that the number of it's face is twice as many as if I created it directly in max6 by using box tool. I think max count both side of faces of ADT elements but I don't know how to control it. If I import the DWG format of that wall in to max6, it just displays as wireframe and nonrenderable. So, Does anyone know how to import ADT elements into max6 but does not increase the number face? Fernando Lino
I usually do is convert my walls in one object in masselement or solids even windows and doors...and I have never had any problem with more faces..did you try to link the file? check out "facetres" command...for default is .5 , this command works well when you have curves and you need more faces there, but maybe you have more than .5 Good Luck!!! hieu
In Viz4, I know the link command for DWG format but I can't seem to found out where it is located on Max6? Does it exist in Max6? or does any way to load that tool from Viz4 into max6? I checked the FACETRES variable and it is .5. I have a question relate to this problem: Could u create a simple straight wall in ADT(similar to my samples above) and count its faces in max? The total faces of it is 12 or 24? Chad Warner
You can download the file link extension for max 6 only if you are on subscription. I'm not sure about how to get it otherwise. If I try to import the dwg with the ADT wall, nothing shows up, but if I file-link it, it shows up, with 12 faces. -Chad
hieu
thanks Chad It mean that Discreet treats diffirently with the model throught two command Import and File link manager. I am thinking of using both Viz4 and max6 in my workflow but still feel a little bit unconvinient when opening 2 program. To Lino Could you tell me your wall to convert your walls in one object in masselement or solids? By using which command and in ADT or in MAX environment?
