Few questions about shipping

Hey, I'm new to the forums and fairly new to the whole 3d scene in general and I decided to bite the bullet and build my own pc. I been having a look at the 3datstech blog and looking at a few of the builds. I'm only 20 so I don't have a huge budget and buying the equivalent builds in the UK is much more expensive. So I guess my question is would it be cheaper to buy in the US and use one of these shipping sites to send to UK or just pay full price here?

I think you'd just have to look at the UK prices and compare (and check on whether you'd be charged import duties). I don't know the UK market but everybody seems to love scan.co.uk. I did a quick check there and came up with about 1230 quid including VAT for something fairly comparable to the Midrange build, which is about 300 USD more than the US Newegg.com price. Without VAT it would only be about $50 more and in most states here we wouldn't have to pay tax, so if I'm correct in guessing that you'd be charged an import duty comparable to VAT you wouldn't come out ahead buying abroad.

AJLynn is right mentioning import duties. Also you will be kissing away warranties as any time there is something wrong you either will have to mail it back and fourth and pay shipping and duty tax or throw it away and buy new. Sadly the only viable solution is to buy local. found that out the hard way here in lebanon with $5000 in lost equipment value.
