Vray Distributed Rendering Question

Just a quick question about DR as I decided to spend some time on it today.

I seem to get an odd problem that when i use DR, every second render doesnt work. As in Ive been doing some quick fire renders to resolve texture issues and basically it work fine the first time, then for every second render it says that none of the other computers are responding. Hit render again and voila it work again. Any specific reason for that? The main computer renders every time, its just the slaves that dont.

The next thing is the UNC paths. So I had the usual problem with textures not showing from the buckets the slaves take care of. I read a tutorial though didnt quite understand this UNC path stuff. Now beforehand the textures are all on my hdd, so i tried it with putting the textures on a network drive and it worked no bother, i didnt have to change any paths to the UNC way of things. So have i done it correctly by putting my texture library on the network and using textures that way? I mean it seems to work in the test i done but just curious if i'll hit problems later on for having sone it this way.

There is a toggle in the DR settings dialog box. Mabee the slave machine does not have time to completely restart DR in between 2 of your renderings. But it is back on when you launch the 3rd one... Wait a few minutes in between render 1 and 2, just to see if that's that.

UNC... using a mapped drive can lead to some problems, does not mean this is going to happen. UNC makes sure that every slave computer node is looking at the good place to find the texture.

Would seem i was just a tad hasty.

The error message does pop up in green highlight saying that the slave is not responding, but regardless if you leave it to keep calculating a few minutes later it connects. I was always quitting when it told me it failed to connect.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!
