datacrasher
a connect only works when you convert down to a poly and go to the edges example if you the inner edge and click on the ring box max will make a ring around the inner edges then use the connect, the connect will connect the amount of segs you want too add and where you want to put them by using the pinch or side. On ce you have done this click ok and you will need them when you turn edge faces off then the connection will go away. unless you want to select the go into the poly select in between the connect and chamfer them Good luck PS i don't understand why if you add a turbosmooth modifer it's turns into a mesh unless you are collapsing the stack then it will convert down to a mesh all you have to do is convert that to a poly Edited September 24, 2010 by datacrasher
theoberd
Thank you very much for your quick reply! Excuse my English....I wanted to write a mess!!!! and not ''a mesh'' What i want to do and might not explained it well... is that.... 1)from the first image....that is a simple line to make the second image (or maybe make a more complicated shape) but inset or connect doesnt work becose the shape goes wrong Thanks a lot for your time
datacrasher
You won't be able to use the connect that was my reply and that's all you can do with the connect tool is run lines through the middle of your object, all you have to do is do the samething a draw a line make it into that make in the image 2 and copy the shape back so they are inside each other Edited September 24, 2010 by datacrasher
BrianKitts
its possible, you just need to weld any vertices that overlap when you apply the inset command. and then since it has a concave side you need to add some additional cross segments in the center of the face. a better method would be to create outline of your shape by warping a segmented plane, add a shell modifier with segments to get your depth, and then add your turbosmooth. This will leave you with nice clean quads.
