AJLynn
Two reactions: First, iray looks potentially fantastic. Second, I'm half way through and I'm seriously annoyed at these three guys. Using the slowest mr settings they could think of to impress people with how slow it is (give me 5 minutes for settings and 5 minutes for rendering and I'd have their image done), talking about how scary-complicated the setting windows are - this is stuff I've taught to undergrads in an hour! BTW, iray is the world's first physically accurate renderer? ... ... ... they could run for Senate. I'm glad nVidia got the idea to invent using "computation" for graphics. Because nobody else ever did that. I can't watch anymore.
Jeff Mottle
It's marketing and it's a Keynote for a major event on GPU technology, so you definitely need a pound of salt with the info. I think the take away is that iray is now available on 3ds Max, Peer1 is likely to be offering cloud rendering services soon along with cloud rendering in 3ds Max, and GPU rendering is making its way to our mainstream apps.
