CliveG
G'day All, Simple questions to the sages, whilst I grapple with resolving Gamma 2.2 concepts: Are IES files by definition correct for use with 2.2 uncorrected ? (I assume yes) one will just naturally de-lamp closer to real conditions compared to pre-2.2 requirements. Are my empty material slots supposed to now look anaemic and washed out (I assume this is irrelevant) but harder to work with is the colour gradients in the whiteness bar of the materials colour selector is just about all white.... with only a very small selection of discernible colour at the very top? And most importantly do I have to Import / Merge all of my legacy work into a 2.2 template in order to update my map's and materials? Worryingly I've noticed if there are nested items merged into the parent file, so say furniture merged from my library brought into a room scene prior to using 2.2 - when I now merge that room scene with my 2.2 template, that the materials assigned to these furniture items still appear washed out in my newly merged legacy files. Any simple explanation / solution or ... am I still not quite there with LWF theory yet? Thanks all. Thablanch
Your IES files are compatible with a proper LWF / 2.2 workflow. For the settings, there been a lot of threads on this, so I wil not re-write all of it, but a search on this very forum, or on chaosgroup forums. http://www.aversis.be/tutorials/vray/essential_gamma_01.htm a little old, but really nice tutorial
