Jim Mann
Anybody using Vrayscatter with Max 2011, Vray 1.5 and Windows 7 on a Mac Pro? I have a job that could really do with investing in this but I can't get the demo to work and from the iCube forums it doesn't look like there is conclusive proof that their plug-in will work with this setup. If anybody is using it and having success or otherwise, I'd appreciate hearing your experinces. Thanks Jim
Craig Ramsay
Not sure if this will help but I'm running Multiscatter with Max 2011 64bit, Vray 1.5 and Win 7 64 bit, it works just fine. I am using a PC although in theory this shouldn't make a difference.
Jim Mann
Hmm...I'm truly tempted as I really do need something that does what it does but I think my reticence is down to my low expecations for support should I need it. The English on the site and on the error messages is really poor and I expect it would be a nightmare to resolve any problems. I have a site within a rainforest setting beside a rocky river so I need something to help distribute plants and rocks. Jim
Craig Ramsay
How about Forest Pro? (http://www.itoosoft.com/english/menu.php) I hear the support for that is a lot better.
Nic H
multiscatter should work i thought vray scatter was discontinued anyway?
Jim Mann
Think I might go for Multiscatter then, maybe with a bundled tree pack. Craig, if it doesn't work, its all your fault! Jim Edit...Actually, scrub that idea, I have been looking around this and the iCube forum and I get the impression that the Vrayscatter/multiscatter support is pretty much non-existent. Lots of posts asking for help that haven't got a response. I've also just had a look at Itoo Forest and the free version seems good so I'm now looking at the pro version so that I can do terrain. Jim Mann
A quick update. I have indeed gone for Forest Pro and at the risk of putting a jinx on things, I have to say its working a treat. I have a hillside populated with vray proxy palms and rocks in seconds.
