Tommy L
I cannot get my W7 workstation onto my network. Network card is working fine, it just sees the network as 'unidentified' and wont let me change the network to 'workplace' instead of 'public'. Anyone run into this issue? There's lots of stuff on the internet about it but no fixes...

F J
i just recently set up a Render Node n i did come across the same problem.. it took me a couple hours poking around it but i did fix it.. i was all over the place n nothing worked, i kept asking myself "y the hell didnt they just put an XP's Network Setup Wizard in here"??? its like click click yes click no click finish done! i think what finally did it was a simple Bridging of the connection.. Tommy L
Francisco, That sounds promising, this problem persists... Could you explain what Bridging the connection is? James, any progress? Thanks, Tom.

Tommy L
Francisco, You are a genius, genius, genius. I have two ethernet connections on this workstation. Even though one is disabled and unplugged.... I selected both, - right clicked - 'hit 'Bridge connections'. That was it. All fixed. I dont know why or what it does, but its fixed. James, I hope this helps you too. Thanks again, Tom.
jinsley
I hope it works... might be nice to have buddy show up and just drink beer instead of having to sit in my cramped office and look at my computer... an article I read about the whole bridging thing: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781097%28WS.10%29.aspx
