braddewald
I've been looking for a free object painter script for 3ds Max 2010 for soooo long. Anybody know of one that they have actually seen working in the wild?
Ricardo Eloy
Well, there's Advanced Painter, which is very good, free and has some really neat features. Well worth a look.
rmccoy
I second this recommendation! I use this awesome script all the time for painting proxy trees and shrubs onto different surfaces. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/advanced-painter Edited October 15, 2010 by rmccoy

rmccoy
I am running 3ds Max Design 2011 64-bit and have never experienced any problems. I wonder if this is strictly a 2010 issue?
Thox
I've been using object painter, which is part of the soulburn scripts by Neil Blevins. I've used this script in 3ds max 9, 2010 and 2011 with no problems. I use it all the time for painting vray proxies onto objects. http://neilblevins.com/cg_tools/soulburnscripts/soulburnscripts.htm

Brian Cassil
Another vote for the Soulburn scripts. What Neil has done is truly amazing. I simply can't work without them now. Object painter is great, but it isn't even close to being one of the more useful/helpful scripts he has.
Jonathan Sanchez
I am running 3ds Max 2010 64-bit and when I try to run the script I get a "runtime error: copy error on file..." try running max as "Administrator" and then run the script installer as the instructions say. braddewald
Administrator mode worked perfectly, I'm going to try soulburn next to compare. Thanks for all the great comments!
