dimopoulos_d
Hi to you all..... I suppose most of you know the rla files that keep z buffer data, and material id's and all that stuff.... The only program i know that can handle them is After Effects, but it doesnt qualify for use with super big stills. So, my question is if you know any other photoshopLike software that can open .rla files. Or what do you usually do if you want just to change colours in a project, but not rerender? And by the way, do you use multipass rendering? Is it worth the trouble if you are not doing animation?
abicalho
Discreet's combustion can handle RLA files and is also capable of painting. Alexander
dimopoulos_d
Thanks abicalho... But only combustion? what do you usually do when you just want to change colours?
abicalho
Open the RLA in Combustion, use a Select by Channel operator to select a region by Object ID, Node ID, Material ID, then apply a color corrector or something like that on top of it. Combustion works similarly to a modifier stack in MAX, and all these operations are recorded in a stack, which is pretty cool, and it also works on an entire animation sequence if you need. I'd suggest you download the demo and play with it. Alexander
