bigcahunak
Never even seen an Asus laptop, but I know they are good machines. But, if you ask me, I'd get the Dual instead. whichever... enjoy your new toy
Michael-k
I will go for a mobile processor. Try to look for the 6800 series, its a monster of a laptop. Its really nice. Dual system hmm if you think you need it, then buy it. But in most cases I think its a wast of money and time
STRAT
absolutely no competition. the dual xeon will leave any laptop in it's dust!
STRAT
i use both. in work i have a couple of xeon dual systems. these do all my renderings. and in work hours i use them for modelling too. At home i have a toshiba 2.6 celery laptop with 512k ram. cost me £800. doesn't sound much, but it's more than adequate for modelling work. i model in autocad and cinema 4d on it and use photoshop and i really couldnt complain at the performance it gives me. obviously the scenes dont contain millions of polys, and i leave all the rendering until i get to work to use my xeons. but even modest test rendering, in GI mode too, is pretty decent on my lap top. but given the choice, dual xeons will ALWAYS be first choice. for rendering a dual xeon will be at least 3-4 times plus faster than the fastest laptop you can buy, at a similar price. Bugga_Guy
Agree wtih Strat 110%, dual xeon is the way to go. I rather have power to get the work done faster then having moblilty.
