PellePixel
New and with quick help from this forum I continue asking... First I will just touch another thread that asked for limited modeling/CAD -tools in Max. I have been using FormZ before that have a lot more CAD&Precision-tools. Many readers complain over that not being to deep into the Max manual... but is it not a big lack in Max? Why are there so many plugin available but no one that extend the basic CAD-tools? AutoDesk owns Kinetix and want to continue selling AutoCad? Are there any blocking feature that make it impossible to extend with more CAD tools? Just a reflexion. ...and more specific problems: Is there a method making a parallel displaced 3D-spline, for example when making a 3D-road you want a lot of "following" parallell splines for barriers etc. You can make a Spline-Outline-Detach but it is a somewhat inconvienient way when you are making many lines. It´s implemented for Nurbs-lines but could not find it for normal splines. I have another problem importing 3D-splines dwg autocad2004 into Max6...the handles will come up as "corner" instead of "bezier" even if the spline show up soft in both AutoCad and Rhino. Do anyone know. Speedtree: I will admit that it was remarkable easy to edit and render hundreds of detailed realistic customized Speedtree-tree closeup rendered using GI and VRay. I had another tip... that just "pass" through Rhino with an autocad dwg mesh file before importing it into Max. It was some months since I did that cleaning but remember that the filesize went down a lot just by resave in Rhino.
