Peppi
How can I render the indirect light of a light source only? I don't mean the 'Ambient Light Only' checkbox because I render the scene with GI. I know that there's a 'Direct light' and a 'Indirect light' checkbox in the Rectangle Area Light in fRender, but is there any possibility to do this in max? The idea is to render a Lightmap for the scene with the indirect light pass of some animated lights (like candles) only. In the animation rendering I have only to render the direct light of the animated light sources and turn off the GI. Thanks in advance... voltaire_ira
try rendering your scene with a skylight only and turn on shadows. play with the number samples. increasing the samples usually renders forever. but the effect is you get diffuse lighting.oh btw, use scanline without any advance ligthing plug-in. im not sure this is exaclty what you re looking for. abicalho
Just use Render Elements. If you're using MAX 6 or VIZ 2005, there's a Lighting Render Element that contains direct and Indirect. If you're using older versions, just choose a Blend Element and enable only the Ambient checkbox. Hope this helps, Alexander
Peppi
With a Skylight or Render Elements I can only render eighter the Direct or the Indirect Light for all light sources in the scene. But I want render the indirect only for some Lights and both for the other light sources. Is the any possibility to do this without any compositing stuff?
