Shape Animation Mask Help

Hey guys, i currently have a single shape, a red line. Starting at the top, it then rotates 180 degree to the bottom area. I need to mask off the line from going into the stands. How do i do this? I tried simply adding a rectangle mask to the line, but the rectangle rotates with the line?

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are trying to do, but can you put a hockey rink at the top of the stack, and mask out the center Ice, and then a hockey rink at the bottom of the stack with no mask? Then simply animate your line to do whatever you want with no masks on your line? When your line reached the bottom area it would disappear behind the top layer so that it would appear as though it did not go into the stands.

Draw the rectangular shape on top of your rotating red line as a separate layer. Turn it off

Set redline to use the alpha of the shape above (the rectangle drawn that's turned off).

If you have multiple lines, precomp it and use the alpha (not luma)
