Jonathan
The creation of realistic photographic quality archictutural visualisation is a fascinating and evolving subject yet this post is dedicated to the artistic, creative and individual aspect of our field, and the wider scope of 3d in the hope to understand its future direction. Rather than focus too much on technological developments I'd be keen to hear your ideas on what could drive and motivate visualisation in the future and would love to see some examples of imagery that thinks outside of the box. Influence comes from all around us, to start the ball rolling Ive included a link to piece that certainly floats my boat. Although not Arch-Viz parse I think somehow, somewhere it could be.... http://sandbox.aaronkoblin.com/projects/amsterdam/index.html
1d2d3d4d
there are lots of levels of realism in this art- depending on the stage of the design, intent of the work, and style of the designers or artists, you get some amazing variations on the architectural presentation-- Id like to see more... here are a few from my 'pictures folder':
Crazy Homeless Guy
Although not Arch-Viz parse I think somehow, somewhere it could be.... http://sandbox.aaronkoblin.com/projects/amsterdam/index.html Data visualization is an interesting and hot field. There are some very beautiful things going on, though I think you need to have a fairly balanced and advanced grasp on both the artistic and the technical side to do good work in this area. I can't help to think that there are some interesting ways that data could be siphoned off of Revit databases and used to create some really interesting ways to look at how the building functions and used. Don't ask me to go deeper than that because I don't have my head wrapped around it anymore than that. VizWorld often posts very interesting data graphics... http://www.vizworld.com/infographics/
Jonathan
Hey 1d2d3d4d, thanks for your input, an interesting range of examples. from the graphical to the sublime. You realy get an impression of the intent which is be expressed through styles other than photorealism. Crazy Homeless Guy, I really like the idea of siphonng Revit data. Im studying data visualisation/infographics at the moment and this certainly has potential. I also think its a really interesting field and something that Arch-Vis could play a part in. Theres all kinds of architectural programming data that could be visualised and therefore quickly understood, (i.e. such as space/building/user use etc as well as the technological aspects such as performance, lifespan etc etc. In terms of abstract architectural imagery, like her of loathe her, Zaha Hadid is an interesting example of influence and inspiration. Zaha borrowed an artistic vision from the Suprematists (1920's), tured it into her own amd made architecture from it! See pics, Suprematism example is in the middle for some reason!
