Crazy Homeless Guy
Anyway know a method of creating non-destructive lens blur layers in a comp? I want to tweak the DOF, but would like to do it with something like a adjustment layer, rather than duplicating the beauty layer (duplication keeps it non-destructive.) BrianKitts
Have you played with converting the layer for smart filters? It allows you to apply non-destructive filters that can be revised / removed. edit: nevermind just realized smart filters greys out the option for lens blur

jinsley
Travis, have you looked into AE?
Crazy Homeless Guy
Travis, have you looked into AE? I thought about doing that, but given the time it would take, and the extra hassle I am not sure it is worth it. I would have to set up an AE file, run the DOF, save out my image, open in PS for comping. Currently in Photoshop I just dupe the layer, and apply a subtle DOF if needed. This way I still have the raw layer in my comp. It isn't bad, but is an extra step. The method I am currently using is just not easily done in AE. mattclinch
edit: nevermind just realized smart filters greys out the option for lens blur you can run a script which unlocks all filters for use with smart objects. then you can use lens blur as a smart filter. http://photoshopnews.com/2007/11/28/smart-filtering-with-the-lens-blur-filter/
