heni30
Hi, Sometimes I'll start modeling a project and then at some point when I switch from "wire frame view" to "smooth + highlights" view I get an error message and Max crashes. Anyone experience the same problem; anyone know how to fix it? Thanks!
alias_marks
I have this problem from time to time, and it seems to boil down to having some odd transparent material in the scene and the graphics card or something not liking it. Might try to make everything a clay gray material and see if you have the same problem
heni30
Thanks; Yeah, an overall neutral material solves the problem. Any ideas how to sniff out the culprit? But even if you figured out which material is was you'd still have to figure out what the problem was with the mapping.
alias_marks
I find it's usually a transparent material like a glass or something. Max sometimes doesnt like to show transparency for some reason. Pretty big flaw if you ask me, that should really be fixed. sometimes if I re-merge the whole scene into a fresh max file, that helps. I'll also just make the material not show transparent in the viewport. I'd be curious if anyone else has this problem and if they've found a fix. Cheers, M-
