unclefarkus
Hey all, I am a rising 4th year architecture undergrad with no interest in actually pursuing a masters, but I do love a lot about architecture and want to do something related, just not an actual architect. Particularly digital production regarding architecture that many of you seem to do as a full-on career. My question is, as I am to be looking at grad schools soon if necessary (I'd really rather NOT continue in schooling), what the best path for this would be? I have built a decent rendering PC and have been spending a decent portion of free time learning Rhino, 3DS Max, Vray, Photoshop as much as possible. My designs are probably lacking in thought often times as I spend more time making them look pretty than making sure they are logical spaces I have seen threads similar to this before, and often times it seems the advice is to just get better and dupe images etc. Is that really the ideal way? Would a masters in Digital Production Arts or something along that route benefit me greatly in the field or is it really just up to what kind of work you can output? I hope to start a family not too far down the road, and want to make sure my job is somewhat steady (lol in this economy, right?) and that I won't regret not doing grad school later when it's more difficult to do. All in all, I want to do renderings and animations for a live. I don't want to go to grad school. But I am willing if it is worth it. I am open. Thanks for the advice and opinions This forum really motivates me and has helped me to know where I want to fit in the world of architecture.
