Duplex Exterior

Any comments to help make this better are appreciated.

I am going to try and help the water. It is now a standard material with noise tiled in one direction and a flat mirror reflection of the environment. It seemed that the reflection only was using the environment map and not reflecting the building. I need to look into this. Any techniques for good looking pond surface? I am using Max 6 with standard renderer and lght tracer w/skylight.

TIA

I missed the water the first two times looking...thought it was a driveway!

Try just using raytracing in the reflection slot, it's always worked for me. Add a little noise to the bump channel and it should be good.

Looks good (is it really that dry up there? Yards down here in Denver are pretty green, with all the recent rain). Not sure about the kid to the left. I think it might look better without him.

How fast is it growing up there? If you ever make it to Denver, let me know.

Cheers.

Thanks for the comments. I fixed the problem with the reflection and added some noise in the bump.

It is dry in SW Colorado, however the client is asking for a more green and manicured lawn with more plants so I will be doing that tomorrow. I'll post another progress image here or if it's final I'll put it in the completed work section.

pretty good image!!!

just one c&c if you dont have a higer resolution image try to lower your saturation to make a better balance betwen your image and the backgrund i think that will make it more real.

but remember just modify the render NOT the bacground.

Looks really good. The only things I would comment on is the tiling in the shingles (which I know is hard to deal with. I have yet to find a non-tiling shingle map). And the second thing is the sames as what radioVOY said....desaturate your rendering a little bit to match the background a little better.

Not bad overall. I think you need to tweak the contrast on the people because they look a little too bright. I see a little bit of tiling going on in the roof. Pond looks better. Modeling overall looks pretty good. I have a question for you, if you don't mind me asking. What client are you working for with this project? It looks very familiar to a client my old company used to work with about a year ago. I can't remember the name of the client, it was actually a realtor company. The back drop you have in your image reminds me of the images they sent to my old company to use when we created models home s for there new community. The images had similar red rock in the mountian sides. I think the client was Triple S realtor. Just curious that's all.

The client is not Triple S but they are based in Durango, CO and the project is in Durango, so...

The cliffs run along the Animas River Valley for 10-15 miles north of town.

I am going to post the final version of this later today (hopefully ).

I'm not sure if I should post it in the "finished work" section or keep it here in this thread?

Thought so... Everything looked oddly familiar especially the red rocks in the mountains. Thanks for replying. Triple S is building in Durango. As far as the final image goes you might just want to post it here since you've started it here. Up to you. Good luck and I would like to see the final image on it.
