postite
I like your image. For me, the photo frame is too shiny. And why fire with sush a sunny day ?
neil poppleton
The foacl point seems to be the fire, maybe it should be the pieces on show, and the lighting should concentrate on these.
Tron
The ceiling is the only glairing item.. I'd junk that office-style t-bar style ceiling and go for something a bit more traditional since the rese of the room, including the floor, moulding, and base boards, are very traditional in appearance. As for the lighting and materials: I like it alot. What method did you use for the floor. I am using the mr hardwood material and am running into problems. Any tips for how you got yours to look so realistic?
Gary Ledgerwood
Thank you all so much for sharing your insights. Stephane: In regards to the photo frame... that is meant to be a television. Apparently I have some more work to do making that look realistic. ;o) The fire is just for fun. Here is NY, you can have bright sunny days like that in the winter and it can be below zero degrees that day. Neil: I agree that the lighting should focus on the pieces being sold. Unfortunately, I was only given a vague description of what types of items would be sold and a short time to complete the rendering. I ran out of time looking for items to populate the scene. Any tips you all have for tracking down entourage would be greatly appreciated. I waste so much time with that. Antoine: I also agree about the ceiling. This space is on the second floor of an old cobblestone building. What I have shown is the existing ceiling grid with new tiles inserted. Budget didn’t allow for any other changes. As far as the flooring goes, I used the "Pro Materials" hardwood material. I inserted my own wood floor texture and a bump map in the surface imperfections slot. The surface finish is semi gloss. Hopefully that helps. Thanks again to all and please keep the input coming!
