Jock
Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on some questions regarding vray licences though it may be i should ask chaos themselves but maybe you guys know. With regards the dongle, since it only works when plugged in, could you essentially install on say 2 computers but just only ever use one at a time and basically when changing computer, you just take the dongle from one and place into another? If i was to upgrade to vray 2.0 would you get another dongle or would they bascially update the one you have. What i'm wondering is if i would essentially have 2 versions of vray i could use, one being 1.5 and the other 2.0 or would i only have 1? JamesL
If you're upgrading to Vray 2.0 from an existing version and you already have a dongle then it will be updated onto your current dongle (through a process of sending Chaos Group a file and they send you back a unique installer to update it). Obviously if you pay the full price rather than an upgrade price you could get a new dongle if required (or as before, update your dongle so that it hosts two licences). If you setup your Vray licence correctly, you could leave it plugged in to one machine and get the second machine to point at the network address of the first machine - that way it it will work, but only when the first machine is not using the licence.
