jamacdia
Hi, im am new to the forum so i apologize if this issue is either already covered somewhere or ive posted in the wrong place etc... but my question is this. Why cant i get the sphere light in SU vray to work. amateurs... heh. i know. SU 7.0.10247 and Vray (whichever one you download from their site). And i'll sneek this in here too... my other issue, seems to be that displacement maps dont work. Well they do, but then randomly they distort the geometry or create blotchy distorted displacement areas. so i am relegated to using bump maps instead, which work cleanly. any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. p.s. great site. thanks. aaronrumple
Radius needs to be greater than 0. And power needs to be set to work with the camera exposure. Have you applied a Vray displacement modifier to the object?
jamacdia
thanks for the suggestions. I forgot to mention (for the sphere light) that i can get all the other types of lights to work. But the sphere just doesnt. I have changed every setting i could think off... enabled the lights, changed the intensity from anything from 1 to 1000 watts or watts/m etc.. reversed the faces.. ... and still nothing. im not sure i know what the radius is. as that doesnt seem to be a function in the omni light paramters though. And about the bump map i will post an image in a bit.
