coolhand
Studio/Institution: NH DesignsGenre: Residential InteriorSoftware: 3ds Max with Vray 1.5Description: I am having trouble with this quick interior scene. The image is to dark, I am using vray sun with GI and the inside of the room renders dark. I searched around and found some posts by other users instructing to change some of the camera settings which I did with my latest render ( see attached photo). Here are my current settings Interior Scene Vray 1.5 SP5 Vray Materials GI Primary: Irradiance with multiplier of 1.0 GI Secondary: Light Cache with multiplier of 1.0 VRay Sun Intensity of 1 Shutter speed: 50 ISO: 110 The materials look washed out with current camera settings as well as the exterior patio can barely been seen. I guess my question is; is there a way to get a really well light interior with out washing out details of materials. An direction or links to tutorials would be helpful. coolhand
Here is what it looks like with a few things changed: No camera modifications Irradiance is set to a multiplier of 3 Instead of Light cache I am using a photon map. This was a render of a previously saved file before I tried a few suggestions from other threads
coolhand
I think I might have found a piece of the puzzle, gamma wasn't set. Now If I apply it it washes all the materials out, do I have to delete all of my materials and re add them ?
coolhand
Someone must have some sort of knowledge as to what I need to do?
alias_marks
It's a little dated, but reading through this should help get your head around setting up gamma - http://www.aversis.be/tutorials/vray/essential_gamma_01.htm
