MBetke
Is there - i guess there is one for every task today - a tool/program which converts a .dwg with several views of buildings into a 3d model? Like using extrude and boolean operations or whatever? I have a bunch of complex floorplans and housing fronts here which I need to rebuild and no clue how to automate such a task to a level where I can clean up the mesh for further editing. alias_marks
it always takes some tweaking and I'm pretty sure there's no on button solution. However, you might give sketchup a shot. If the linework is fairly clean, I've use the pencil tool to draw over top of one line and it's sort of 'smartly' drawn a surface automatically for that whole poly line, and then I just push pull it to whatever.. Maybe some others will have some pointers too. M-
