jinsley
Anyone have a method or routine they would be willing to share? I don't know if I am missing something simple. but I am having some issues with this... I work with very large drawing files so selecting everything and holding "shift" to deselect is a pain because of lag, etc...
neil poppleton
Can you put your selection into a selection set. Select all items then r to remove items and remove the selecion set ? Not in fron tof Cad but just an idea ?
neko
i'm going to retroactively change your grade in CAD 1 to reflect your lack of memory for the use of the letter 'R' for remove, when selecting objects.
jinsley
Haha... Ouch. The trouble is that I can't make mass selections... Its a very large project and takes minutes to regen if I select the entire thing... I could do it in sections but that would take a while... neko
just to let you know, autocad 2011 finally has included a 'selection similar' where you can quickly select everything by layer/colour/object type/etc....
jinsley
I remember Trevor showing that quickly at school... I tried doing it yesterday with the quickselect function but the trouble was that the items I was trying to keep do not all have similar layers, colour, etc.... I should probably ask if I can have 2011 installed and check out if it performs any better than 2008. Otherwise I am out of time and I will just have to do it by sections.
