Sketchup and 3ds MAX

Hello chaps

 

I'm importing a model from sketchup.

 

There are a variety of objects which will all be given a brick texture. Problem is some of these objects behave differently when I apply a UVW map.

 

Even when I drap and drop the UVW modifier from one object to another I will get different scaling. I tried a reset xfrom but it is greyed out when I select the object. I also tired converting to editable poly but this makes no difference.

 

It's as if there is some underlying dcoordinate system brought over sketchup.
