Brodie Geers
I'm a native SketchUp user who basically just gets into 3ds Max when I need to put in some high poly trees/cars. I'd like to experiment with UVW unwrapping my buildings. Is that pretty common? It seems like it would be helpful to be able to texture a building much like you would an organic model (scuffing up the bottom where the brick meets the ground, slight weathering on the corners, etc.). But I've had a difficult time figuring out the unwrapping process. There are a number of tutorials on organic unwrapping but not much on what I can only assume is much simpler architectural hard surface model unwrapping. I tend to end up with thick green lines all over (which I guess aren't "seems" really, but sort of like...edges?). And I'm not real clear on how to stitch the pieces together and such. Any help you can offer or tutorials you can point to? -Brodie
