Just wanted to say hello to the forum.

Hello,

I work for a local builder in Savannah, GA. And the new boss is requesting me, to convert my 2D Cad drawings into marketing renderings using 3DS Max. Don't know where to start. I figured joining this forum would help out. Anyone have any ideas on tutorials video preferred, or any books I should purchase.

Hopefully I didn't post in the wrong section.

Thanks for the help,

JFelix

Thanks for the Reply James...

I now realize, that I posted my hello to the board in the wrong section. I apologize..

I did run across this training software, and was hoping that someone had some ideas,

if this would be good to get me started...

I'm running Autocad architecture lt 2007 and 3ds max 2010...

Any additional thoughts or ideas??

Thanks,

JFelix

  • 3 weeks later...

jinsley,..

I've called multiple times and have not gotten a return call from the cgschool. They must be on vacation... Still learning and getting a tad better, just finding it difficult to find resources specifically for Architectural renderings... I was going to buy this book... But than, I read the reviews... http://www.amazon.com/Foundation-3ds-Max-Architectural-Visualization/product-reviews/1590595572/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

I have the 3DS max 8 bible, but it seems to have tons of information that I'm not interested in...Animation/Teapots/ etc..

I found the tutorials section on this forum and that is helping..

Not to sure anymore, which way to go. I guess, I will just keep watching videos about everything that isn't related to architecture until I get a call back from CGSchool..

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
