How to create horizon effect for animation.

I am using 3d max 9,v-ray 1.5 R3

i can create horizon in photoshop but for the animation i need to know,how to create in 3d max

just stuff a vray plane in there (it will appear to extend to infinity and hence create a horizon)

But on the horizon line surronding should be blurred.

render a zdepth pass and make fog in post with it / bit of blurring

another option would be to use a large underlay image and desaturated the image file towards the edges in photoshop as well as putting a skydome over the scene with an falloff map in the opacity channel to dissolve the base of the dome into the underlay......
