amer abidi
Hey Peeps.. I've got a bit of free time on my hands now, and would really like to sink my teeth into animating with reactor, but can't seem to find any solid learning resources on the topic. Nothing on Amazon, nothing on Google (just random beginner tutorials)... Does anyone know of any book/website/DVD/etc.. that pertains specifically to the topic? All leads appreciated. Thanks Amer
Dave Buckley
the 3DATS book 'Advanced to Expert has a chapter on Reactor, but I guess you've always got the Max help file.
amer abidi
Yeah, i have the book and have read the chapter, but i need more than just one chapter. I find it very peculiar that no one has taken the time nor inclination to write down a book or dedicate a single resource to this amazing plugin! Dave Buckley
Very true. I'm kind of in the same boat. Hence the thread I started about 5 minutes ago Does PhysX not solve any of your problems? Might be the one to learn . . . The MentalBoutMax team have just launched a video tutorial series regarding PhysX. It just doesn't have the same possibilites as reactor . . . . yet. Hoping it will replace reactor though.
amer abidi
i hadn't heard of PhysX till now... first impression seems that its GPU based. will look into it, though i got my mind set on Reactor for now
Dave Buckley
PhysX was introduced in the Subs Advantage Pack for Max 2011. It is GPU accelerated I believe but can be used without GPU acceleration too. However my technical knowledge is about a 1 so I could have just made myself sound like an idiot.
