.exr and max 2011 network render settings

Network rendering .exr with max 2011 on Windows 7 does not keep the .exr settings I save when setting the file up. No extra channels at this point--just half-float zip compression wanted instead of full float renders. I have tried copying the .exr .CFG files to render nodes in the local user settings, and also setting .exr options manually by opening max on render machines, but nothing works. Anyone have a fix of this?

Are you by chance a vray user? be sure to use the max buffer if you are, otherwise the render channels won't save into the EXR.

Not using Vray--just scanline.
