andersonimagery
Studio/Institution: Anderson ImageryGenre: Commercial ExteriorSoftware: 3d Studio Viz 2007Description: Hi everyone, I have been using 3D Studio Viz for about 8 years now but this is my first work in progress post. I use the Mental Ray render that is built into Viz 2007 but I do not use any of the mental ray lights. The ambient light in this scene is created by an omni light with an applied Ambient/Reflective Occulsion map. This is a technique that I learned at one of Ted Boarman's classes a few years ago. The direction light is simply created using target spot lights. This is the level of rendering that is considered "good enough" where I currently work. I however would like to start improving my renderings since I hope to start doing feelance work in the future. I would appreciate any feedback you have. I feel I need to improve my glass and metal materials. I would also like any suggestions on prefered renderers since I am not using mental ray to is full capabilities. Thanks, Pete
DAssassin
I feel you can try out the Mental ray's built-in Sun! You can achieve good results with some post work in Photoshop.
