novelh
Hey everyone. I'm having a little issue with a scene that I'm creating. Its an interior shot with a background of a sky outside the window. I've created a plane just outside the window with a VrayLightMtl and the image of the sky in the color slot. The Problem is that the it previews pure white, were I can't see the map nor adjust its position, and it renders black through the window. What you do you think is going on? I can't seem to figure it out. See screenshot. Thanks
Logitek
Hi Novel, First you want to check the checker box in your bitmap (Material Editor) like you usually do to display them in the viewport. Then you probably need the multiplier of your VrayLightMtl to be higher than 1... it is directly related to your VrayCamera settings so I cannot give you a magic number. Try 10-30 (it could even be 100 if your ISO is very low and shutter speed very fast...??!!). I'm sure this is enough to fix your issue. Cheers,
novelh
Thank you Matthieu. I had indeed forgotten to check the "show in viewport" button for the bitmap. It was rendering black because I had to flip the normal for the plane. Finally I set the VrayLightMtl intensity to 2 and that did the trick. Thanks for the advice. It was a late night and my head was a little cloudy
