skeay
Hello, I'm working on some tests for vegetation (so not urgent!) I just wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to use a distance blend on objects? What I was thinking is if you had proxies in the foreground and basic planar trees in the baskground. In the same way as you can with a material blend it from a detail foreground to a blurry distant shot, is it possible to render only proxies at say 50m and planar beyond that? Thanks in advance! John Dollus
you can do this with particle flow or you can try and use the Level of Detail utility.
skeay
Thanks John, I should've said based on the camera distance so it could be animated or vary from view to view. Do these suggestions work based on the camera z distance?
John Dollus
LOD utility swaps entities based on pixels or percentage of screen so not as precise as using particle flow but since things get larger the closer they are to the camera then, yeah, both ways will do it.
