danb4026
I have a render that is 3200x1650. I need to expand the view as per client to extend the sides out about an inch each. Because I have already done so much photoshop work, I want to render this out and just plop it in as a base layer. Problem is, when I adjust the width, it doesnt just make the image wider, it also lessens its height. I don't want that! I just want to make it wider, while keeping everything else the same. Is there a way to do this without moving the camera and screwing up everything I have already done. Using Vray Cam. Thanks
Stephen Thomas
Search for a script called Overscan, does the job without you having to recalculate FOV etc.
Camby1298
I would simply change your image size to the desired width (with keeping the same image aspect ratio) and do a region render; cropping out the extra top and bottom areas of the image while adding the extra left and right portions. danb4026
Stephen, do you know if it works with a vray camera? Camby, I wish what you suggested would work, but it simply changes the resolution not the actual canvas size.
danb4026
Looks like overscan may work! I used it with a regular max camera, ran the script, and then converted that camera to a vray cam. Did exactly what I wanted....now rendering. Thanks! Will let you know if the rendering comes out as expected.
