Vray and .rpf files

So i'm trying to play about with after effects but for some reason cant seem to save an rpf file.

Basically ive given an object its own id, i then add a render pass for 'object ID' and when i render i can see the object no bother in its dropdown in the frame buffer. I then save as and tell it what channels i want when i choose rpf but when i then open that file in after effects theres no information on the file other than 'millions of colours' where it should be telling me everything i chose like zdepth, object id etc.

Anyone got any ideas?

the info should be there..... you don't have to select anything at import. (other than how you want to matte the sequence)

Drop your file into the comp and then in the Effects menu under 3D channel add an ID matte. In the settings you'll see what channel it's using (by default its set to ObjectID)..... change the ID selection and you should see it scroll through your materials by ID.

I must be doing something wrong.

I choose what channels i want included when i save the rpf and someone showed me what theirs looks like when they import it to After Effects:

Captura.jpg

But the thing is mine doesnt look like, it contains no info other than 'millions of colours' Ive tried everything i can think of but its always the same.

Ive tried the IDmatte but i think the problem is that the information isnt there, so it cant do anything.

Though to be honest i dont see what i can be doing wrong.

- I go to vray render elements

- enable object id

- give the object an id using r.click>properties

- render file and save the material ID pass as a rpf and select object id channel

- import to AE and it says it contains no info
