Marionette
I don't even know if I'm allowed to say "sketchup" in this forum, I seem to be the only one using it:o. Anyway, here's the thing: I AM using sketchup for my architectural models and recently I started playing with Fryrender, which is very impressive. However I have a huge problem for my exteriors, none of the sketchup tree components look good in the render.I wonder if that means that I must put all the green in the image in Photoshop, or is there a better way? Fran
Hi Mona, I'm not a Sketchup user, but I'm told that if you enable the alpha channel in the fryrender material, the trees should render properly. In your fryrender material, go into the map editor of your Opacity map and select the opacity map for your tree component. This is a little bug with the function that auto-converts Sketchup materials to fryrender ones on export. It is fixed for the next release. If you create a fry material within sketchup and apply it to your objects, the material will export correctly. If the trees are still faded looking, try setting the opacity map's Bitmap Mode to Alpha.

It's going to take me some time to understand and do all you advised but I'm going to try and I'll come back to you with the results.
stormwind78
That´s a nice question because I would like to know if fryrender can read the RPC plugin on 3D Studio Max? I never figure it out how, I can only set the opacy to work with faces of the leaves that comes with 3D trees. But that overloads the model.. I still need RPC... any ideas?...
