andrejcordeiro
8 gb.. Well, maybe the problem is within the settings for the render itself....can you make a print screen of the settings you have....and a print screen of the error message. notamondayfan
it could be anything from bad geometry, bad maps, modifiers, plugins, scrips, etc. Does it happen with all files, or just one in particular?
djoshi
notamondayfan - with that one file only & that file opens well on 32 bit..( But not usefull as it requires more memory to render which is not possible in 32 bit xp). I also think some bad geometry causing this but how can we come to know that which object is doing this as there are so many object in scene. andrejcordeiro - Error is something like " Error occurred application will close now click save to save file or cancel..." with red cross.. Paul Twyman
Ok, massive stab in the dark but do you have the HSDS modifier on anything? I know that this causes issues in 64bit. Failing that you wanna try merging things into a clean scene. Use a half then half again method for merging until you find the culprit. i.e. Merge half the scene, if it is ok you know the offending object is in the other half or vice versa. Then keep doing this with the problem half until you find the issue. Hope this helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
notamondayfan
Try these steps - Merge everything into a new scene. Check all materials are using the ones your renderer supports. Ungroup everything. Go though each object and collapse the stacks where possible. Delete any unused objects, shapes, lights, etc. That usually works for me with dodgy files. Crazy Homeless Guy
My favorite first step is to delete the 3dsmax.ini files, and let it create a new one. Though this usually fixes crashes on start up, not necessarily switching between projects, but it couldn't hurt anyway.
djoshi
Thanks guys.. Now it is working fine..I was sure that, things that I have modeled & done would not have a problem..so I have started deleting objects which are merged from library..ultimately got that object:mad:..fwhooh.. Feeling relieved now..... Some times situation makes you crazy..when you are working in tight deadlines..& You are seeing yourself in wasting time in useless things..& not doing what you are paid for..anyways..this is a part of our industry...
