akryll
New to 3Ds Max. I was wondering if anyone is using Vue 9 with 3ds for landscaping. I'm looking at starting with some exterior stills and I'm trying to find a cost effective yet realistic collection of plants. I was also looking at evermotion, just want to get some input before I make a purchase. If you're using either, what would you recommend as far as the packages they both offer? Fernando Lino
firstable, are you a Vue user? ...evermotion are modesl that you can insert them in max and render them out pretty simple ( they are not expensive) if you go VUE, you have know how work in VUE...if you want to use the version that works with MAX , It's around $1,400...if you have the budget and time to learn vue is a great applications. http://www.3dmentor.ru/ http://rendering.ru/ they have very good collections for max Fernando
akryll
I'm not a Vue user, just was looking for a cost effective way of adding plants and backgrounds. I thought you could export the Vue models after you built them. I will probably just look at buying some 3d plants and merging them. danb4026
I have used a number of verisons of Vue and now have Vue 9 as well which I have used within Max. I find that the Vue atmospheres take too long to render within max to make it a good option. So I usually, depending on the mood I am trying to achieve, will use lighting with max and then match that mood with a sky/background placed in the scene in post. I have also found that most vegetation can be added in post as well. Once you know how to use photoshop proficiently, adding things in post process is the quickest and most versatile way to go. Fernando Lino
you could download the trial version and to see is VUE works for you....I got VUE 3 years ago to export plants and trees, at the time they look good but today you can find very good 3dsmax libraries...I would buy libraries, forestpack & autograss (if you use Vray).\ Fernando
danb4026
I agree with Fernando. I use Autograss very often and Forest Pack for distributing plants. Evermotion has great libraries and you can try and find xfrog plants aswell.
