Wrender
Hello all - I'm new to using MR Proxies and have a couple questions that I couldn't find by searching. I have a car that has several objects, each with it's own material. I'd like to turn this into a MR Proxy. 1. How do I combine the objects into one object that MR Proxy can use? 2. How can I take all the existing materials and put them into one MSO that can be applied to the resulting MR Proxy to have it render correctly? Any help would be tremendous! BTW - using 3D Max 2011 if it matters.
dande
You can attach all the objects together or use Zaps proxy maker script. I use it all the time to create proxies. See the link below http://mentalraytips.blogspot.com/2008/04/3ds-max-2009-released-mr-proxies-and.html I hope this helps
Wrender
Hi Dande - thanks for the link. That's helpful. The only thing is it makes about 100 proxies that I'd have to keep track of. I think I want to attach them all - but I'm unsure how to do that. Could you explain that method? Sorry I'm so new at this!
Wrender
Nevermind - I figured it out thanks to Ramy's blog: http://3dsmaxrendering.blogspot.com/2009/10/attaching-detaching-meshes.html Thanks!
