mskin
my brother gave me a dell computer that stopped working for him. he said if i could fix it, i could have it. i reseated the ram and the machine works fine. it came with windows vista home premium on it. i'd like to reinstall the os since his son completely loaded it with adult content and it runs sluggish although the machine specs are adiquate - but he doesn;t know where the install disk is. since the machine has an OEM product key on it, cant i just use any vista install disk and use that product key? and how would i obtain the cd? can i download a legal copy of the iso from someplace? thanks
Ricardo Eloy
Dell, Sony and other manufacturers normally include a hidden partition with all files needed to restore the OS to factory settings (just the way it comes when you buy the machine). Try searching Dell's website for the procedures (or even for a way to order the DVD, which they also normally have).
AJLynn
But then you'd have Vista. Don't you have a copy of 7 sitting around that you can use?
paneli
Vista's great. Been using it for about a year. I really don't understand people that say Vista sucks. I've been using 7 for two dmn months, and it was a real pain in the ace. Edited December 26, 2010 by Panibor
WAcky
upgraded yesterday from Vista ultimate 64 to win 7 pro 64 and couldnt be happier. After grappling with vista from its release I'd highly recommend steering well clear of it.
