i've had problems with maxon refusing to display my work before.

basically because i model all my work in autocad. but i use C4D 100% for rendering/texturing/lighting etc etc. does this not count?

Well, I'm going to submit that ONE rendering I did with C4D. Modeled in Datacad and FormZ, so it they reject it like yours they lose more good architectural examples that could help them sell units in this industry.

Are you listening Ms. Public Relations?

looks like they want the whole job done in c4d from start to end :(

it's a shame

It's foolish. They can still sell units to people like us who model in architectural programs and use theirs for rendering. We pay the same amount as anyone else. I bought the studio bundle--the whole menu.

They need to make some changes to get more market share in the arch.vis market. It may be an attitude adjustment that is needed most if they reject your images. You are their ambassador right now.

Which reminds me, I got lost in my work to organize the 'petition' thing to let MAXON know what they need to do to make C better for architectural people. I'll get to it...

I have also had at least 10 images rejected....and that spans back about 3.5 yrs. I've been using Cinema since I got a deal on C4D Go from Paul Babb. My work flow has always been modelling in FormZ and rendering in Cinema.

I agree 100% with Ernest. Most of the "architecture" gallery on the Maxon website is crap. The majority of the images they have on there might show off software features, but they are generally poor architectural images. A 3D image of a building does not automatically make an architectural rendering.

I dont want to sound like a sore loser - "Oh no they didnt take my images. Woe is me!" Its not that at all.

Architecture renderings have a specific flair which is not being represented fairly in the Maxon Galleries. The powers that be should wake up and realize this.

Hmmm.

I submitted some work to Maxon before, but I just figured they thought it was crap. I can't imagine why they would turn down Frosty, and Strat or your work Ernest. It will be intersting to see what they accept as "Architectural" renderings and animations.

Since they have direct plugins for two Architectural modeling and drafting programs (ArchiCAD and Vectorworks) It seems strange that they would snub work modeled in another App and rendered in C4D. I Purchased the full studio version myself and I model most of my work in ArchiCAD. It's a way to keep profitable by not having a throw away model through the life of the project. Maxon should understand that... I mean, THEY ARE RUNNING BUSINESS THEMSELVES.

i'm gonna pass this thread on to maxon support tomorrow morning.

as you guys say, how many architects use maxon as a one stop shop? not many i shouldnt think. serious visualisers generally need the presition of a CAD program, and to be honest C4D's 2d and splining facilities need allot of imorvement before i'd even consider basic operations in that department.

Also, it's the finished article that matters. if i submit one of my images which was rendered in C4D isnt that what counts? who cares, or more importantly, who knows what i modelled it in? i know different proggys have their own tell tail signs of modelling styles, but not half as obvious as renderers.

And another thing i've considered - because allot of my work is photomontages, perhaps they dont like that much. because it's photo work and photoshop work. because i didnt comp it in c4d or model the actual photo in c4d they wont use my stuff.

wake up Maxon and broarden ur horizons. dont be so proud to exclusively look for c4d imagery because you wont find much.

next time i submit an image i think i'll lie about it. i'll say i modelled it all up in C4D? silly innit.

well Diana did fully explain to me that it's not just C4D exclusively, but C4D AND/OR BodyPaint must have been used somewhere in conjunction with a 3rd party app (if you used one) in the production of ur image.

perhaps they're just anti-Welsh then :p

(no Ernest, no reply. the only support i get from Maxon is either after pestering them with a phone call or repeated e-mails, or i get them first time if they have a new product to sell me or i want to enquire about purchasing a product)
